Tracking back the customers’ reviews on Amazon, it dates back to the year 2000 and with 582 5-stars ratings, there’s no doubt about the credibility of this yogurt maker.

“The Salton YM9 is the best home yogurt maker on the market. It is easy to use and clean. If you use more than a quart of yogurt a week, the Salton is the most reliable and lowest cost maker on the market.”
- Joe Score, Cincinnati

Excellent Value for Money
People love this machine because unlike any other methods of making yogurt, it is predictable that one would get yummy yogurt every time. The price is reasonable for its make, usability and reliability. However, most owners reported that they paid less than the retail price because they’re able to get a deal on Amazon. Plus, the whole process of incubating the milk and started pack from scratch takes so little of the owner’s time.

The Salton YM9 Yogurt Maker 1-Quart as its name implies, makes up to 1-quart (which is equivalent to 1 liter) of yogurt per batch. Of course, if you want to make less than 1-quart of yogurt with this machine, it wouldn’t be a problem. Do take note that this is a single vat yogurt maker. So if you don’t mind having the frills (I like the frills) of having smaller, individual jars, this would be for you.

Cute Design
Salton designed this Salton ym9 yogurt maker well. It’s lightweight and does not take much space in your kitchen’s counter top. Your kitchen would not look like a hazardous construction site with this machine. There was one reviewer who mentioned that the yogurt maker looks like a baby robot. In retrospect, I do think it looks like a smaller version of Star War’s R2D2.

All in all, the Salton YM9 1-Quart Yogurt Maker is worth every penny that you spend on it; it’s easy to use, works perfectly at all times and fits into your kitchen snugly. And it’s the best salton yogurt maker or salton electric yogurt maker you should probably consider first!

Easiyo Yogurt Maker – Best Basic Yogurt Maker http://yogurtmakerbest.com/easiyo-yogurt-makers/easiyo-yogurt-maker-best-basic-yogurt-maker/ http://yogurtmakerbest.com/easiyo-yogurt-makers/easiyo-yogurt-maker-best-basic-yogurt-maker/#comments Tue, 19 Jul 2011 13:13:19 +0000 Tammy http://yogurtmakerbest.com/?p=26 My sister has never bothered eating yogurt before but since my niece started to eat solid food, my sister insisted that her daughter grow up benefiting for yogurt’s many health benefits. The only problem was that making a habit of eating yogurt can be expensive and put a dent in a single mother’s pocket. That was when a friend of hers suggested that she get the Easiyo Yogurt Maker.

Easiyo Yogurt Maker with Lid Jar

As Simple As 123
This yogurt maker is perfect for busy mothers because of its simple 3 steps. First, fill the yogurt jar with cold drinking water up to its half point and mix the contents of an Easiyo starter pack. Fill in more water, put on the lid and shake. Second, fill in boiling water inside the yogurt maker up until the red baffle after pushing the baffle down inside the yogurt maker as far as you can. Third, put the yogurt jar inside; the water should rise up around its base. Put the lid on and leave it at least for 6 to 8 hours before refrigerating it.

A tip for you: the longer you let the mixture sit, the creamier, tangier and firmer your yogurt will be.

The physical appearance of the Easiyo Yogurt Maker itself is as simple as its operation. Its simple white or pink body has no other fancy features, which is great if you won’t use them.

Easy on the Pocket
The yogurt maker is affordable, selling at $24.95 on Amazon but if you never pay for retail like my sister, look around your neighborhood to see if there are any deals. She got hers at a promotion. Not only that, she had gotten five starter pack for free. The culture packs contains milk solids and live cultures that would make 1kg of yogurt. You won’t hike up the utilities bill with this one as it doesn’t use electricity at all.

Despite it’s simplicity, the end result was nothing short of a yummy yogurt. Even my brother-in-law, who was skeptical about the taste, loves it. So, what are you waiting for? For hassle free yogurt making, head to Amazon to purchase your very own Easiyo Yogurt Maker.

Cuisipro Donvier Electronic Yogurt Maker – Best Electronic Yogurt Maker http://yogurtmakerbest.com/cuisipro-yogurt-makers/cuisipro-donvier/ http://yogurtmakerbest.com/cuisipro-yogurt-makers/cuisipro-donvier/#comments Tue, 19 Jul 2011 04:19:43 +0000 Tammy http://yogurtmakerbest.com/?p=29 It seems like owners of the Cuisipro Donvier Electronic Yogurt Maker was inspired by Mirielle Guiliano’s “French Women Don’t Get Fat” that they decided to start eating yogurt. One of those inspired souls was my aunt. So, when I visited her last winter, I got to test drive this yogurt maker myself.

Great Electronic Control
The best thing about this yogurt maker is that the controls are instinctual and the digital LCD display is clear. The Cuisipro Donvier Electronic Yogurt Maker has an electric timer that will beep to indicate that the yogurt is nearly ready to be eaten. And as soon as it’s ready, it will auto shut off itself. However, do place the yogurt maker in such away that the controls would be hidden as it is very sensitive. A wrong touch of a button could just turn off the machine and spoil your milk.

Like my very own yogurt maker, this one also have the advantage of creating individual packs or flavors in one go. The only difference is that mine come with 6 jars, while my aunts comes with 8… and at a cheaper price as well. I guess it runs in the family. This need to have variety in our daily life.

Satisfaction Guaranteed
According to my aunt, this fairly priced yogurt maker is a great investment. The Cuisipro Donvier Electronic Yogurt Maker has helped her save her money by allowing her to get yogurt that is more tastier and cheaper than the ones bought in store. Not only does it produce good tasting yogurt, it is also easy to maintain and clean; an important factor for busy people.

If you’re looking for an affordable electronic yogurt maker, look no further. The Cuisipro Donvier Electronic Yogurt Maker will ensure you get what you paid for… and more.

Waring Pro YM350 Professional Yogurt Maker – Best Multi-Container Yogurt Maker http://yogurtmakerbest.com/waring-yogurt-makers/waring-pro-ym350-professional-yogurt-maker-best-multi-container-yogurt-maker/ http://yogurtmakerbest.com/waring-yogurt-makers/waring-pro-ym350-professional-yogurt-maker-best-multi-container-yogurt-maker/#comments Fri, 15 Jul 2011 02:12:54 +0000 Tammy http://yogurtmakerbest.com/?p=20 The Waring Pro YM350 Professional Yogurt Maker comes with my very own personal recommendation. Not only is the sleek black base and stainless steel body goes well with my modern kitchen, it allows me to make whatever flavored (or not) yogurt that I want at one time.

Waring Pro YM350 Professional Yogurt Maker

Individual Packs or Bigger Tub?
Unlike the single vat yogurt maker, this one comes with six 8-ounce and two 16-ounce containers. What I like most about the Waring Pro YM350 Professional Yogurt Maker is the versatility that it allows. Here’s what I normally do during the weekends; I would make plain yogurt with the bigger jars before I go out on Saturday nights and the next night, I make individually flavored yogurt with the smaller jars. The best thing about the individual jars is that I can toss it in my bag while heading out in the mornings. It makes snacking healthily so much easier.

Here’s a tip: don’t fill the smaller containers up to the brim if you want to mix fresh fruits with your yogurt. Also, warm up the jars inside the yogurt maker first while you’re preparing the milk. This way, you can speed up the incubation process.

Yummy Yogurt the Easy Way
The yogurt maker is simple and instinctive to use. It’ll warm the water to the perfect temperature and turn off when the incubation process is done. Oh… do make sure that you keep the yogurt in the refrigerator within a few hours because it won’t keep warm much long.

The only complaint that most people have is about the jars. Since the BSA scare, people are complaining that the containers should be made of glass instead of plastic. I for one don’t really mind, but I leave it to you to judge for yourself. My stance has always been “if it’s going to happen, it will happen.”

So, if you’re like me and prefer the flexibility, the Waring Pro YM350 Professional Yogurt Maker is for you. I have to admit that it’s pricier but now you can get it at 28% discount from Amazon. So grab that opportunity people!

Yogourmet Yogurt Maker – Best Large Yogurt Maker http://yogurtmakerbest.com/yogourmet-yogurt-makers/yogourmet-yogurt-maker/ http://yogurtmakerbest.com/yogourmet-yogurt-makers/yogourmet-yogurt-maker/#comments Thu, 14 Jul 2011 02:48:39 +0000 Tammy http://yogurtmakerbest.com/?p=17 I saw the Yogourmet Yogurt Maker while I was at my friend’s house. Since her family not only eat but also use yogurt as part of their beauty regime, this is the best yogurt maker for them. So if you consume or plan to use a lot of yogurt regularly, this is perfect for you.

Yogourmet Yogurt Maker

1 Quart or 2?
The best thing about this Yogourmet yogurt maker is that you have the option to make either 1 quart or 2 quarts of yogurt. After the incubation process is done, you can just remove the inner container and put it in the refrigerator. And according to my friend, you can keep it up to 3 weeks if it’s sealed properly. Because there is no need to transfer the yogurt into a separate container, cleaning up afterwards is easy.

The Yogourmet Electric Yogurt Maker uses water to transfer heat from the incubator’s heating element to the inner vessel just like the non-electrical models available in the market. However, because there is a heating element, I find it to be a hybrid since it uses electricity to heat the heating element. Because of the water, heat is distributed more uniformly, making it possible to get the perfect yogurt every time.

Positive Reviews
If word of mouth counts as a reliable source, the Yogourmet Yogurt Maker is reliable. It comes not only with my friend and her family’s recommendation but also from many other owners. It is reliable and durable. There are owners who owns the older version of the model for years and still it works fine. Personally, that is good to know.

So, if you’re looking to buy something that will allow you to make big batches of yogurt, the Yogourmet Electric Yogurt Maker is the one for you. At $68.94, the yogurt maker is one of the priciest that I’ve come across with but it’s worth it.

Miracle ME72 Yogurt Maker – Best No-Hassle Yogurt Maker http://yogurtmakerbest.com/miracle-yogurt-makers/miracle-me72-yogurt-maker-best-no-hassle-yogurt-maker/ http://yogurtmakerbest.com/miracle-yogurt-makers/miracle-me72-yogurt-maker-best-no-hassle-yogurt-maker/#comments Sun, 10 Jul 2011 03:50:05 +0000 Tammy http://yogurtmakerbest.com/?p=14 Before my current yogurt maker, I had the Miracle ME72 Yogurt Maker in my studio apartment kitchen. True to it’s claim, it’s hassle free as I didn’t have to heat the milk prior to the fermentation process; all I needed to do was mix in the yogurt starter pack and put the carton inside the machine.

Miracle ME72

Ridiculously Easy
As I mentioned earlier, other yogurt makers will require you to heat the milk before actually putting it into the machine. But with this one, it enables you to skip the part where you boil the milk. The makers of the Miracle ME72 Yogurt Maker claim that because the yogurt is produce right in its original pack, the risk of any infection or bacterial growth is eliminated. All I had to do was add the starter pack inside the milk carton, shake it to mix it, put it inside the yogurt maker and at 12 hours tops, I would get a quart of homemade yogurt.

The only problem I had with using the Miracle ME7 Yogurt Maker was that sometimes it’s difficult to get the milk container out of the incubator. You see, sometimes I buy my milk from the small little store at the end of the market street. They have them in glass bottles. These glass bottles slides easily into the incubator but sometimes I just need to rattle the bottle out when the fermenting process is done.

Yummy Yogurt Every Time
The yogurt turns out creamy and yummy from every batch that I make. All I have to do was stir in some flavored jam our syrup when I want to. However, there are some people who complains that their yogurt turns out runny. Still, the success rate is higher and I can attest to that.

I agree that the Miracle ME7 Yogurt Maker is fuss free and very easy to use even with your eyes closed. The only thing that made me buy a new one was because this did not go with my new kitchen. Get yours now from Amazon at $34.95.

Yogurt Making Tips http://yogurtmakerbest.com/yogurt-maker-guide/yogurt-making-tips/ http://yogurtmakerbest.com/yogurt-maker-guide/yogurt-making-tips/#comments Mon, 04 Apr 2011 05:08:06 +0000 Tammy http://yogurtmakerbest.com/?p=185 Almost everyone likes to eat yogurt, especially those who loves to munch on desserts during leisure time. If being prepared properly, yogurt can be a really healthy and delicious snack which can be made in many flavors and varieties. Since self-made yogurt tends to be much fresher and tangy in flavor than most of the store-bought ones, the yogurt can also be custom-tailor and blended according to your taste buds. Although yogurt making can be complicated at times especially for beginners, it is really not as hard as how it has been portrayed. Follow these valuable tips to make your batch more flavorful and successful:

Tip 1: Get high-quality bacteria for starter- Since the bacteria turns lactose in milk into lactic acid, you will need to pick a high-quality yogurt bacteria in order to make your first batch. Among the top choice of a high-quality, brand-name plain yogurt includes Danone.

Tip 2: Use a candy thermometer- You need to monitor the exact cooking temperatures at all times and the candy thermometer is the best option as it is designed to sit in liquids and provide very accurate temperature readings.

Tip 3: Sterilize all cooking equipments- Before you start the process of yogurt-making, be sure to sterilize all cooking equipments. Most cooking equipments such as spoons, pots, and measuring cups contain natural bacteria. By sterilizing your equipments, you’ll be able to avoid any unwanted bacteria from breeding in the yogurt.

Tip 4: Flavoring and the next batch- It is highly recommendable that you get creative with flavor combinations. Try experimenting during your yogurt-making process by adding walnuts, fruits, fruit preserves, or granola for some added flavors.

Tip 5: If your yogurt appears to be smelly or tastes and looks odd, don’t consume it. Discard it away immediately and create a new batch instead upon cleaning the utensils needed for the yogurt preparation.

Tip 6: If you have poured your yogurt mixture into the yogurt maker, never touch it directly with bare fingers as a close contact with skin may turn your yogurt rotten.

Tip 7: To make a yogurt with thick texture, use an organic milk as it makes the thickest yogurt if compared to other milk types such as powdered milk.

Tip 8: To get the best and appropriate sweetness for your yogurt, try adding a few tablespoons of sugar to your milk mixture when boiling.

Tip 9: If you’d like an additional flavoring, add a sweeteners oat fruit after the yogurt is wholly processed and refrigerated.

Tip 10: Never heat the milk for too long as you’ll end up with a bad quality yogurt.

Tip 11: To get a firmer and tarter yogurt, extend the cooking time.

Tip 12: Yogurt which is made with skim milk powder will have a soft consistency.

Tip 13: Never leave the yogurt in the blender/ machine for too long as the curd and the liquid will separate, and you won’t be able to reverse it back.

Euro Cuisine Automatic Yogurt Maker – YM100 http://yogurtmakerbest.com/euro-cuisine-yogurt-makers/euro-cuisine-automatic-yogurt-maker-ym100/ http://yogurtmakerbest.com/euro-cuisine-yogurt-makers/euro-cuisine-automatic-yogurt-maker-ym100/#comments Fri, 11 Feb 2011 08:19:51 +0000 Tammy http://yogurtmakerbest.com/?p=147 This Euro Cuisine Automatic Yogurt Maker tops an average 4.5 stars, and having 70 positive reviews out of a total 71, seems like buyers love their Yogurt maker.

The Euro Cuisine YM100 comes with an automatic “turn off” function that would shut off the machine after the cooking cycle is over. This is what all yogurt makers should have, considering the long hours they need just to ferment the milk, but with this one, I can just leave it overnight and wake up the next morning with a good old serving of yogurt waiting for me.

Euro Cuisine Automatic Yogurt Maker - YM100

Euro Cuisine Automatic Yogurt Maker - YM100

You can set the timer to how long you want, and this can be very useful for making a variety of yogurts, I on one hand just leave it for a good 10 hours to get that commercial grade yogurt, of course with a fruity taste (the pure milk thing is not for me)

This Euro Cuisine Automatic Yogurt Maker is quite small and for those who consume a mammoth amount you will notice that the tiny 7 jars just don’t make the cut.

It comes with 7 glass jars, which in an environmental sense beats the regular plastic cups that conventional store yogurts are packed in, so buying this means no more throwing away plastic cups into the already overflowing landfill.

The little glass jars have a design flaw to them, it seems the neck of the jar has a slight curve at the top that make removing the yogurt a little more difficult, not only that, it also makes them hard to clean.

A user on Amazon feared that the plastic lids for the jars would cause some health issues, but I think that you will be fine just as long as you don’t wash the lids with any harsh or acidic cleaners that would peel their protective coating.

Another design flaw would be that the cover of the maker has a bit that sinks in the middle, this causes the vapor that condenses at the top to gather and drip into the jar in the middle, water in my yogurt? Unforgivable!

It is safe to say that this Euro Cuisine Automatic Yogurt Maker – YM100 is a good buy considering its price and the automatic turn off; it’s versatile, has the capability to prepare just about any type of yogurt and gets the job done, although there are flaws which could drive the sensitive of individuals up the wall, but you will climb down the minute you get a spoonful of homemade yogurt.

Salton YM7 42-Ounce Electric Yogurt Maker http://yogurtmakerbest.com/salton-yogurt-makers/salton-ym7-42-ounce-electric-yogurt-maker/ http://yogurtmakerbest.com/salton-yogurt-makers/salton-ym7-42-ounce-electric-yogurt-maker/#comments Tue, 08 Feb 2011 05:21:11 +0000 Tammy http://yogurtmakerbest.com/?p=145 The Salton YM7 42-Ounce Electric Yogurt Maker received some pretty positive remarks from a lot of buyers, but the negative reviews although not as many are very worrying indeed, but in order to justify this yogurt maker I decided to try it out.

Salton YM7 42-Ounce Electric Yogurt Maker

Salton YM7 42-Ounce Electric Yogurt Maker

Firstly the set is an incubator style yogurt maker, this means you just place your milk in its readily available jars with all the necessary things to turn it into yogurt (excess yogurt, starters or bacteria culture whichever you prefer) and leave it for half a day and it will be done, sounds simple? It’s no wonder why many buyers who want to make yogurt prefer to go for incubator type makers.

The set has a lid which won’t drip the condensed vapor form the steam on places that you don’t want them to; well I’d say this is a small benefit over other yogurt makers which would drip water into your yogurt or even to the electronics.

The Salton YM7 42-Ounce Electric Yogurt Maker comes with 7 glass jars, all respectively at 6 ounces, to be honest these jars are way too small, but the maker itself is small, this requires me to make 42 ounces on the first session and another 42 on the second, but this is impossible unless you have another set of identical glass jars that would fit in the unit, sadly there are no replacement jars for purchase, that means you are stuck with those 7 jars for the rest of your life.

The controls are rather simple, because there are none, no automatic shut off no temperature setting, but there is a timer reminder though, so all I had to do after laying the jars in the unit was to flip the little red switch to the “on” position and wait overnight for some magnificent tasting yogurt.

After I’m done I just use the lids that the jars come with to cover them all nice and tight like for their prolonged stay in the refrigerator, what about the empty jars? Well cleaning them is a breeze since they don’t have that little curved neck, something like a collar which makes it really hard to clean (unlike the jars in other yogurt makers which won’t come clean even after a round in the dishwasher).

I guess the negative reviews on Amazon were caused by faulty units, poor delivery or extremely picky buyers, although it comes with its flaws this Salton YM7 42-Ounce Electric Yogurt Maker is still worth its price, but if you can’t stand the downsides then you may want to settle for another model.

Tribest Yolife Yogurt Maker http://yogurtmakerbest.com/tribest-yogurt-makers/tribest-yolife-yogurt-maker/ http://yogurtmakerbest.com/tribest-yogurt-makers/tribest-yolife-yogurt-maker/#comments Mon, 07 Feb 2011 09:44:44 +0000 Tammy http://yogurtmakerbest.com/?p=134 The Tribest Yolife Yogurt Maker could just be the one to change “Yo Life”(sorry I just had to do it). This Yogurt maker sports the incubator design, and has a few added features that make it a little more appealing than the other conventional yogurt makers on Amazon; these “extras” are probably the reason why buyers leave so many reviews on how they just love this model, let’s take a closer look on these nifty bonuses.

Tribest Yolife Yogurt Maker - YL-210

Tribest Yolife Yogurt Maker - YL-210

First of all, the main feature that sets this apart from any other regular electronic yogurt maker and drives me to just love the Tribest Yolife Yogurt Maker is that it comes with 2 different lids for the main unit, this is a very clever feature, since I can use my own larger jars to prepare much more yogurt in a single process instead of just relying on the 7 tiny 6 ounce jars they provide with this unit, which have me making yogurt everyday and washing them immediately so I can make another batch.

The lids however aren’t dome shaped, so that means rogue droplets of condensed vapor are going to make their way into your yogurt.

The time indicator function is something that I don’t really use, since I always keep track of when I turned the maker on, but I guess it is a bonus for those who tend to forget or have a really busy schedule and can’t get themselves to remember, but for me I’d prefer an automatic shutoff over a timer in any situation.

You can get very creative with your yogurt making with those tiny jars, well I do use them occasionally when I wish to make individual flavors for everyday of the week (just like they were supposed to be used) but I can’t seem to limit myself to only 6 ounce a day, so the jars are a win for the well disciplined kinds. These jars also have a lid for secure and safe storage of your yogurt in the fridge.

The 5 year warranty is an eye popper, it seems that Tribest is so confident that their little yogurt maker will last longer than 5 years, that gives any buyer confidence on the quality that this incubator has.

One major problem that Tribest should have seen before selling this product is that the lack of a thermostat and the ability to adjust the temperature manually causes the machine to make poor grade yogurt, but with a little control of the ingredients you can fix this, just cross your fingers that the bacteria doesn’t get boiled to death.

For its price this Tribest Yolife Yogurt Maker is an average yogurt maker, it doesn’t come with starters and I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone who doesn’t know how to make yogurt or does not have the experience necessary, the 2 lids are great and I just love the big one, but it requires a lot of getting used to before you can get the texture right.
